TRIoH: Targeting Replication and Integration of HIV

A European network, including 22 Universities and research institutions, is being established in this project. Their goals is to develop new active substances against HIV, in particular those inhibiting the replication of the virus. These anti HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors should specifically have an effect against multi-resistance HIV strains. They are primarily based on oligo- ribonucleic acids, such as aptamers and siRNAs. Prof. Dr. Joachim Engels and “Georg-Speyer-Haus” scientists are participating in this project.
