ZAFES member Prof. Zielen is involved in phase I-III trials to optimise diagnostic procedures, new therapies and the prevention of atopic diseases. In cooperation with industrial partners low dose allergen provocation model and/or LPS inhalation challenge have been established to characterise inflammatory and oxidative response and to test new compounds (unsaturated fatty acids, probiotics, autovaccine, anti-oxidants etc.) in intervention therapy.
