The Institute for Medical Virology is an institution engaged in research and teaching based on indirect patients’ care. It has a broad expertise in diagnostic methods. It offers a comprehensive set of tests for the determination of all essential parameters from the fields of serology, virus isolation, antigen detection, electron microscopy and molecular biology. Research focuses are antiviral therapy, cellular virology, interactions between viruses and cancer cells and development of therapies for paediatric cancers.
