a vertical approach to mechanistic
research, the institute offers
a broad spectrum of expertise
from the molecular analysis
of indivual enzymes to integrative
physiology. Research aims on
the discovery and understanding
of mechanisms and pathways
controlling vascular homeostasis,
development and function. Emphasis
is put on aspects of endothelial
cell biology, oxidative and
nitrosative stress, angiogenesis
and lipid signaling, seeking
the identification of new therapeutic
targets for cardiovascular
disease, inflammation and cancer
treatment.
